The department has fundamental technical facilities, such as the strength of material laboratory (since 1950), the hydraulic laboratory (since 1952) and two computer classes.
The strength of material laboratory has the equipment as follows:
In 2011, VNP-8 state-of-the-art strain gage station was purchased for static testing of structures.
The Strength of Material Laboratory was audited by the State Enterprise Kharkiv Regional Research and Production Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification for compliance of the measurement system with the requirements of DSTU ISO 10012: 2005 “Measurement management systems – Requirements for measurement processes and measuring equipment" (certificate No. 01-0133/2016 dd. December 20, 2016), during the study on the strength and deformation of building structures and concrete, reinforced concrete, metal and wood products, as well as protective coatings.
The hydraulics laboratory has the following equipment:
The department implements advanced teaching technologies based on the use of the state-of-the-art computer and multimedia equipment. The department has two lecture classes and a computer class equipped with multimedia complexes and modern computers with installed licensed software, including the software complex for the structural designing and calculation (Lira, license No. 1/5149).
