Faculty of Railway Operation and Management has existed for more than 80 years. Among famous faculty graduates there is an honorary Kharkiv citizen, former minister of railways of USSR M.S. Konariev, Hero of Ukraine, former minister of transportation and communication of Ukraine H.M. Kirpa.
Faculty of Railway Operation and Management trains specialists for education and qualification levels of Bachelor and Master and for education and qualification level of Doctor of Philosophy in 2 specialities: "Transport technology (railway transport)", "Civil security".
There are 4 graduating departments at the faculty. The graduates can work at transfer stations between the railways of different countries, at directorate departments and external economic relations services and also at transport organizations irrespective of the form of ownership that are related to the railway operation.
Faculty of Railway Operation and Management supports close relations with international organizations in France, Israel, Great Britain, Russia, Belarus and other countries. Students of our faculty under the guidance of tutors take part in international conferences, in particular Horizon 2020. Students have opportunities to become familiar with activities of international transport organizations and enterprises, take part in goal-oriented programmes for improvement of the pan-European transport system: TEMPUS, TRACEKA. There is an opportunity for practical training abroad for the best students.
European programme, MieGVF project «Master of infrastructure and operation of high-speed transport in Russia and Ukraine» in compliance with TEMPUS IV (530281-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-FR-TEMP US-JPCR) has been introduced at the faculty. Students can get double degree: a state-recognized diploma in the main speciality and a diploma of the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM, Paris, France) in the specialities: "Manager of infrastructure of high-speed transport" and "Manager of operation of high-speed transport".
