From the 11th to 13th of September 2017, Dr.Sci.Eng., Associate Professor G. Vatulia and PhD, Associate Professor M. Kovalov participated in the International Scientific Conference BULTRANS-2017 held by the School of Transport of Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria) in Sozopol, where they presented the reports at the Railway Engineering and Technologies section.

Our colleagues presented the results of the developments by the authors from the department on design solutions of systems with the optimal internal stress distribution, as well as the design of a test bench for temperature controlling of the continuous welded rail track.

On the 29th of June 2017 Mykhailo Pavliuchenkov defended his thesis for PhD in engineering science "Impoving the bracket support structures of tank wagons to reduce materials consumption", presented for PhD of technologies researching in specialty 05.22.07 - railway rolling stock and hauling operations. The colleagues from the department congratulate Mr. Pavliuchenkov sincerely and wish him further success.

From the 21st to 25th of May 2017 the researchers and postgraduates of the Department of Structural Mechanics and Hydraulics (Dr.Sci.Eng., Associate Professor G. Vatulia, PhD, Associate Professor Ye. Orel, PhD, Associate Professor M. Kovalov, A. Berestianska) participated and made reports at the 7th International Conference "DYN - WIND 2017: Dynamics of Civil Engineering and Transport Structures and Wind Engineering", which was held in Žilina University.

On 04th and 05th of May 2017, the researchers and employees of the university (Dr.Sci.Eng., Prof. A. Falendysh, Dr.Sci.Eng., Associate Professor G. Vatulia, PhD, Associate Professor Ye. Orel, M. Pavliuchenkov) participated and made reports at the 10th International Conference "Transbaltica 2017: Transportation Science and Technology", which was held in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.
