In the framework of the dissertation research she studied affixes of a modern English and distributed them into connotative groups, proved the significance of the theoretical comprehension of the grammatical and lexical meaning and co-meaning of affixes influencing the connotative meaning of lexical units. Moreover, she specified the research areas of the word by combining its denotative and connotative aspects, therefore it is the connotation as a complex dynamic phenomenon of the language and speech which allows defining the whole set of word co-meanings.
Besides, she analyzed connotative differences of the stems in the interlingual comparison in order to improve possible ways to express connotative co-meanings, and revealed the ethnical specific nature of the connotative phenomenon in the affixal systems of English and German. Thus, the comprehensive connotative analysis of word-forming language elements, with subsequent distribution of these elements into two basic groups: language and speech affixes, was conducted. And on the basis of affixes, for the first time, the connotative synonymic rows and defined inter-language differences between English and German were described.
