Education: In 2001, he graduated from Kharkiv State Academy of Railway Transport majoring in “Organization of transportation and transport management (railway transport)” and was awarded the qualification of engineer in organization of transportation and railway transport management.

PhD in Sci. Eng. since 2006; Associate professor since 2009; the dissertation was defended in the specialized council D 64.820.04 at the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport in specialty 05.22.20 “Operation and repair of transport vehicles”, diploma No. DK 035631.

Scope of scientific activity: – improvement of operation technologies of access tracks and freight station, ensuring freight safety during transportation.

The author has 63 scientific works. In his teaching and methodological and scientific activity, Associate professor A. Kovaliov published and prepared for publication 61 teaching, methodological and scientific works, including 35 scientific works, 1 utility model patent and 27 instruction workbooks.
